Pakistan Set to Build Passenger Aircraft, Announces Aerospace Expert

Islamabad: Air Marshal (Retd) Javed Ahmed, President of the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies, has announced that Pakistan will soon have the capability to manufacture passenger aircraft, leveraging the country’s strong infrastructure for producing modern fighter jets.
Speaking at a seminar on “The Role of the Aviation Industry in Economic Growth” organized by the Competition Commission’s Centre of Excellence, he emphasized the need to modernize Pakistan’s aviation sector. According to him, updating the sector will unlock its full potential in tourism, cargo, technological development, employment, and national security.
Dr. Kabir Sidhu, Chairman of the Competition Commission, noted that regulatory frameworks in various sectors are outdated and need to be upgraded to meet modern business requirements and challenges.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Usman W. Chauhan, Advisor to the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies, members of the Commission, and other officials.
This development marks a significant step toward advancing Pakistan’s domestic aerospace capabilities and expanding its role in both civil and defense aviation sectors.
