Sugar Was Thrown in Rana Sanaullah’s Jail Cell to Attract Insects, Claims Hamid Mir

Islamabad: Senior journalist and TV anchor Hamid Mir revealed that sugar was deliberately thrown into Rana Sanaullah’s jail cell to attract insects. Speaking during a talk show, Mir said that the disturbing tactic was not disclosed by Sanaullah himself, but by individuals who were ordered to carry out the act.
During the discussion, PML-N leader Musadik Malik added that Rana Sanaullah was made to lie on insect-infested ground for a year. In response, Hamid Mir elaborated that sugar would be scattered first, followed by the arrival of insects. “There were cameras installed in the cell as well,” he noted, citing anonymous sources who were allegedly instructed to carry out the order and urged him to speak publicly about it.
PTI representative Aamir Dogar, who was also present on the show, questioned who was behind such actions and pointed fingers at the current prison administration. “Who controls Adiala Jail today? We must reclaim our space,” Dogar said.
In a sarcastic remark, Hamid Mir commented on Pakistan’s ongoing sugar imports, saying, “Maybe the sugar will now be thrown into your leader’s cell,” indirectly referencing PTI leaders currently facing jail time.
