Taliban Must Choose Between Pakistan or Khawarij, Says Field Marshal Asim Munir

Rawalpindi: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that the Taliban regime in Afghanistan has been given a clear and firm message: they must choose either Pakistan or the Khawarij (terrorist groups), as there is no third option.
Field Marshal Asim Munir was presented with a guard of honour at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where contingents of all three armed forces saluted him. The heads of the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy were also present at the ceremony.
Addressing officers of the tri-services after the ceremony, Field Marshal Munir said that the establishment of the newly formed Defence Forces Headquarters marks a historic structural transformation. He described its creation as a necessary step toward a more integrated and unified defence framework.
He emphasized the need to further enhance multidomain operations under a cohesive tri-services system, especially in the face of evolving and complex security threats. While each service will maintain its operational identity and autonomy, the Defence Forces Headquarters will ensure coordination and synergy across all branches, he added.
Speaking about regional security, Field Marshal Munir cautioned India against any miscalculation, stating that Pakistan’s response in the future would be “even swifter and more severe.”
Reiterating Pakistan’s stance toward Afghanistan, he said the Taliban regime has been told unequivocally that it must choose between supporting the Khawarij or maintaining ties with Pakistan.
The Chief of Defence Forces reaffirmed that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation but will not allow anyone to challenge its sovereignty, territorial integrity, or resolve. “Pakistan’s identity is invincible, safeguarded by the faith-driven bravery of our soldiers and the unity of our people,” he stated.
It is worth noting that under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan defeated India in the historic *Ma’rakah-e-Haq*, downing seven of India’s most advanced aircraft and neutralizing its air defense systems.
