Balochistan Decides to Launch Crackdown on Non-Custom-Paid Vehicles

QUETTA: Authorities in Balochistan have decided to launch a major crackdown on non-custom-paid (NCP) vehicles amid reports that such vehicles are being used in terrorism-related activities.
Recent findings reveal the presence of an estimated 150,000 to 200,000 NCP vehicles across the province, prompting law enforcement agencies to consider strict action.
The planned operation will be a joint effort involving the Excise and Taxation Department, police, customs, and Frontier Corps (FC). Instructions have already been issued to relevant forces throughout the province in this regard.
In a related development, customs officials in Mastung raided a warehouse and recovered 11 non-custom-paid vehicles worth Rs81 million.
Meanwhile, officials from the Excise and Taxation Department stated that the department has profiled around 40,000 NCP vehicles in the province. They added that daily operations are now being carried out to curb the use of such vehicles.
