Quetta: Under the leadership of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial government has launched a comprehensive initiative to provide world-class professional training and a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000 to young engineers in the province, starting January 1, 2026.
The announcement was made following a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Quetta, where the Chief Minister reviewed the Technical Human Development Program in detail. The program aims to equip Balochistan’s youth with advanced technical and professional skills necessary for the province’s development.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Balochistan government and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), represented by Additional Chief Secretary Zahid Saleem and PEC Chairman Engineer Wasim Nazir, formalizing the partnership.
Under the program, the first batch of 300 young engineers will undergo six months of intensive practical and internationally-aligned training while receiving the monthly stipend. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the province urgently needs engineers with modern skills to strengthen its development infrastructure.
He added that the government is committed to providing merit-based opportunities and practical exposure in the public sector, ensuring that young engineers play an effective role in Balochistan’s growth. He expressed confidence that the joint program between the Pakistan Engineering Council and the Balochistan government would become a milestone in technical human resource development for the province.
