Balochistan CM Welcomes U.S. Designation of BLA and Majeed Brigade as Terrorist Groups

Quetta:Balochistan Chief Minister, Sardar Sardarfaraz Bugti, has warmly welcomed the United States’ decision to designate the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Majeed Brigade as terrorist organizations.
In a statement, Chief Minister Bugti expressed his gratitude to the U.S. government for this significant step, adding that the credit for conveying Pakistan’s stance to the U.S. administration goes to the federal government and Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir.
He condemned the activities of both the BLA and Majeed Brigade, stating that these groups, under the guise of advocating for ethnicity and rights, have shed innocent blood. “Terrorism is terrorism, regardless of the cause. No objective can justify the killing of innocent civilians,” Bugti remarked.
The Balochistan Chief Minister also stressed the importance of global unity to eliminate the menace of terrorism. He emphasized that the world must come together to address this pressing issue.
It is noteworthy that the United States recently classified both the BLA and Majeed Brigade as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO). According to the U.S. Department of State, the BLA has already been designated a global terrorist organization, while Majeed Brigade is also now officially recognized as an international terrorist group.
The U.S. Secretary of State’s statement pointed out that the BLA had claimed responsibility for the attacks on Karachi Airport and the Gwadar Port Complex. Additionally, the group took responsibility for the Jaffar Express train attack, which led to the martyrdom of 31 people and the abduction of 300 others.
The U.S. designation brings international attention to the violent activities of these groups and strengthens the efforts to curb terrorism in the region.
