IMF Conditions Prevent Us from Providing Relief to People, Says Rana Sanaullah

Islamabad:** Senator Rana Sanaullah, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, has said that the government wants to provide relief to the public but is unable to do so due to the conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Speaking on Geo News’ program *Geo Pakistan*, Rana Sanaullah said that the “Imran Khan Project” brought devastation to the country, noting that inflation, which was **3% in 2017**, surged to **40% within four years**.
“We want to give relief to the people, but IMF conditions are preventing us,” he stated, adding that the government would be able to ease the burden on citizens once the IMF program is successfully completed.
The adviser said the government’s top priority is to move the country forward, promote development, and create ease for the public. He added that those responsible for damaging the country in the past could be held accountable later, but the focus for now should be on national progress.
Commenting on the Haripur by-election, Rana Sanaullah said the results brought both happiness and surprise. He criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister for “leading a campaign filled with threats, false cases, abusive language, and hatred,” saying such tactics do not yield positive outcomes.
