Netflix Introduces Video Game Streaming Feature for TVs

NEW YORK: Streaming giant **Netflix** has launched a new feature that allows users to **play video games directly on their televisions**, marking a major expansion beyond movies and TV shows.

According to international media reports, Netflix subscribers can now use their **mobile phones as controllers** to play games on **smart TVs and streaming devices** such as Roku. Users simply **scan a QR code** on their TV screen to connect their phone as a game controller.

Netflix’s **Co-CEO Greg Peters** announced the development during the **Bloomberg Screen Time Conference**, describing it as **“a new chapter in the world of entertainment.”** He said the company is focusing on creating **social games** that friends and families can enjoy together.

In its initial rollout, Netflix has introduced several popular titles, including **Boggle Party, Tetris Time Warp, Pictionary Game Night**, and **Lego Party**.

According to **Ellen Taskin**, head of Netflix’s gaming division, the company is pursuing **long-term growth in the gaming sector** by improving its **cloud gaming infrastructure**. She added that Netflix aims to transform itself from a **video streaming service** into a **comprehensive entertainment platform** offering movies, series, and interactive gaming experiences.
