Pukhtunkhwa National Awami Party Announces Protest in Ziarat, Alleges State Involvement in Rising Unrest

ZIARAT: The Pukhtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP) has accused the imposed provincial government and state institutions of deliberately fostering a deteriorating law-and-order situation in Ziarat district and announced a mass protest and public meeting on **Sunday, September 28, 2025**, in Zarinda town.

In an official statement, the party claimed that Ziarat has been deliberately pushed toward instability and demanded that government agencies fulfil their constitutional duties to restore peace. The PNAP said unlawful transfers of tribal lands are being carried out deliberately, calling such moves “intolerable” and demanding their immediate cancellation to allay public anxiety.

The statement condemned alleged encroachments by security institutions on tribal lands — including constructions and camps on land earlier donated for educational purposes. The party said the land given for Quaid-e-Azam Residential College (later transferred to the Al-Hujrah Trust) has been occupied, undermining its original educational purpose. PNAP warned that more than half of the plot has been taken over and insisted the land must be used exclusively for education.

The party also accused the provincial government of sowing discord among Ziarat’s tribes through unnecessary interference, pointing to a 27-day curfew as proof of oppressive state action. PNAP charged that a calculated conspiracy aims to provoke inter-tribal conflict, which has not only created insecurity but also inflicted heavy financial losses on the local tourism industry.

Calling on supporters across all local units, PNAP urged full participation in the September 28 protest and vowed to coordinate peace marches, rallies, and processions with allied groups until the district’s “serious grievances” are addressed. The party pledged it would not abandon the people of Ziarat and promised to continue struggle at all levels to defend local rights and territory.
