Eating More Almonds May Ensure Better Cognitive Health Later in Life, Research Suggests

Islamabad: While almonds have long been known for their benefits to brain health, recent research suggests that consuming more almonds regularly may significantly enhance cognitive abilities in later life.
Almonds are rich in vitamin E, omega fatty acids, antioxidants, and magnesium — all of which help protect brain cells from oxidative damage. These nutrients play a crucial role in maintaining memory, learning capacity, and overall brain function.
Several observational studies indicate that individuals who consume a handful of almonds daily show improved memory and learning skills as they age. Moreover, regular intake of nuts like almonds and walnuts has been linked to a lower risk of dementia and age-related cognitive decline.
Health experts recommend consuming a handful (about 6–10 soaked almonds) daily to support long-term brain health. This simple dietary habit may contribute significantly to sharper mental abilities in older age.
