Balochistan Assembly Approves Supplementary Budget Worth Over Rs119.69 Billion

Quetta: The Balochistan Assembly has approved supplementary budgetary demands worth more than Rs119.69 billion during a key session chaired by Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola.
The session, which began 30 minutes behind schedule, concluded the general debate on the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 and proceeded with voting on supplementary grants and demands for the current financial year.
During the proceedings, Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani presented several demands for grants related to various government departments. Following detailed discussion, the assembly approved the proposals by a majority vote.
In the first phase, the house approved 21 non-development demands for grants amounting to Rs61.29 billion. Subsequently, it also approved 25 development-related demands worth approximately Rs58.39 billion.
Overall, the assembly approved a total of 46 development and non-development demands for grants, with a combined value exceeding Rs119.69 billion.
The general debate on the 2026-27 provincial budget was also completed during the session, after which the formal voting process on the demands for grants began.
Addressing the assembly, Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani said the provincial government is managing economic affairs while taking into account available resources, development priorities, and the operational needs of government institutions. He added that the constitutional process of budget approval would continue in upcoming assembly sessions in a phased manner.
