US–Iran Technical Talks to Be Held in Switzerland Tomorrow Under Pakistan and Qatar Mediation: Foreign Office

Islamabad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that, following the signing of the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding,” formal technical-level talks under the agreement will be held on June 21, 2026, at the well-known Swiss resort of Bürgenstock.

In a statement issued on social media platform X on Saturday, the Foreign Office said the upcoming discussions mark the first major step toward implementing the initial understandings reached between the two sides.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, high-level technical representatives from the United States and Iran will sit across the table during the crucial meeting.

A key feature of the diplomatic process is that Pakistan and Qatar will participate as official mediators, acting as the main communication channel between both sides.

The ministry said the primary objective of the talks is to move forward on the points agreed under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and to discuss in detail the legal, technical, and procedural matters required for implementation.

During the meeting, experts and relevant officials from both countries will closely review progress made after the agreement and consider practical steps to advance the mutually agreed framework.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s diplomatic stance, the Foreign Office said Pakistan will continue to play its role as a neutral mediator and will support constructive engagement between the parties.

It added that Pakistan remains committed to promoting dialogue and diplomacy in the region and expressed hope that the Bürgenstock talks will help strengthen trust between the United States and Iran and maintain the positive momentum generated after the Islamabad agreement.
