Arrest Warrants Issued for Absent Accused in Cases Related to November 26 and October 4 Protests

Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for absent accused individuals in cases registered against PTI leaders and workers related to the November 26 and October 4 protests.
The hearing of the cases was presided over by Judge Tahir Abbas Supra. Exemption requests from attendance were approved for Leader of the Opposition, Umar Ayub, while PTI leader Azam Swati was provided copies of the challans (charge sheets).
In the case registered at Kohsar Police Station related to the November 26 protest, a supplementary report was submitted. The prosecution also filed challans for those accused individuals whose bail decisions are still pending. The court directed the prosecution to present arguments in the next hearing regarding whether a challan can be submitted for those whose bail decisions have not yet been made.
The court postponed the hearing of the Kohsar Police Station and Noon police station cases until August 4, while the hearings for the cases registered at Aabpara and Tarnol police stations were deferred until August 11.
There was also a hearing in two cases related to PTI’s freedom march against the party’s founder and workers. The hearing for Kohna Police Station case number 242 was postponed without any proceedings until September 5.
For Kohna Police Station case number 243, the process of declaring three accused individuals as absconders has begun. The court adjourned the case until August 2.
The hearing for Kohsar Police Station’s case number 1033 has been postponed until tomorrow, with arrest warrants issued for absent accused individuals. The challan for Kohsar Police Station’s case number 551 was also submitted to the court. The court issued summons for Ali Bukhari, Shoaib Shaheen, and other accused, adjourning the hearing until September 6.
PTI workers, including Sardar Muhammad Masroof Khan, Amina Ali, and Murtaza Tori, appeared in court. The PTI leaders and workers are facing charges under anti-terrorism and other sections for the incidents registered at Kohsar, Aabpara, Noon, and other police stations.
