Reko Diq Mining Corporation Pays Over \$28 Million to Balochistan Government in Taxes, Royalties, and Social Investments

Quetta:Reko Diq Mining Corporation (RDMC) has revealed that it has made payments exceeding \$28 million to the Balochistan government in taxes, royalties, and social investments. This was disclosed during a media briefing on the progress of the Reko Diq project.
Samia Ali Shah, the Communications Manager for RDMC, shared that, by June 2025, a total of \$17.5 million will have been paid in royalties, around \$3.8 million in taxes (collected from employees and other stakeholders), and \$7.2 million in social investment.
Samia clarified that while the Balochistan government holds a 25% stake in the project, it has not made any direct investment. The Reko Diq project is a joint venture between the government of Pakistan and RDMC, with equal partnership between the two entities.
The briefing also highlighted RDMC’s efforts towards the development of local human resources. A group of trained youth, who had completed an 18-month training program with the company’s support in Argentina, were also present at the event. Samia Ali Shah emphasized that 14% of the youth who were sent for training abroad were women, adding that the Reko Diq project offers long-term benefits for the region.
The company’s ongoing efforts are expected to provide both economic growth and social development to Balochistan, ensuring that local communities benefit directly from the project’s success.
