Fuel Crisis Hits Quetta and Surrounding Areas After Iranian Petrol Suspension, Citizens Face Severe Hardships

Quetta:Following the suspension of Iranian petrol supplies, a severe fuel crisis has emerged in Quetta city and its surrounding areas, severely disrupting daily life. Since last night, only four petrol pumps remained open in the city, causing significant difficulties for the public.
The closure of Iranian petrol supplies has led to an acute shortage of fuel in Quetta and nearby regions. Most petrol pumps are either closed or facing long queues, with widespread chaos and disorder reported at the few functioning stations. The situation has left the citizens in distress, with daily routines severely impacted.
The most affected groups are the lower-income population, rickshaw drivers, and patients in need of urgent medical care. A distressing scene unfolded in the city center when a sick person was being pushed in a rickshaw by bystanders to be taken to the hospital. Due to the fuel scarcity, many rickshaws are off the road, and the transportation of patients to hospitals has become increasingly difficult.
The lack of petrol has also disrupted the traffic system, causing chaos for students heading to schools and colleges, office employees, and businesspeople. Public transportation has nearly come to a halt, while private vehicles are unable to find petrol, resulting in deserted roads across the city.
Local residents have pointed out that the province’s economy and daily life rely heavily on Iranian petrol, but the suspension has crippled the entire system. There have been increasing calls for immediate government intervention to restore fuel supplies.
On the other hand, there has been no sign of emergency measures or raids on petrol pumps by the district administration, which has further heightened public frustration and anger. Social and community groups are urging higher authorities to take swift action, restore emergency services, and ensure the continued supply of petrol, so that citizens do not face further hardships.
