Tensions Rise in Iran as Pak-Iran Border Sealed; Trade Suspended, Pakistani Students Return Home

Gwadar: Due to the deteriorating security situation in Iran, unusual conditions have emerged along the Pak-Iran border, leading to the complete suspension of cross-border trade and travel. However, the repatriation of Pakistani citizens is continuing under strict supervision.

According to sources, 134 Pakistani nationals have returned to Pakistan over the past two days via Border Pillar No. 250 near Gwadar, including 88 students. Officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said that security has been tightened in border areas in view of the uncertain situation in Iran, and general movement across the border has been halted.

The FIA added that despite the closure of routine travel and trade, the return of Pakistani citizens is being ensured in a phased and organized manner. The current tense conditions in Iran have led to an increase in the number of students and other citizens opting to return home.

Authorities stated that all repatriation arrangements are being carried out with full monitoring and security to avoid any untoward incident. The measures aim to ensure the safety of stranded Pakistani citizens while also strengthening border security arrangements amid the evolving situation.
