Pakistani Man Shahzaib Khan Extradited from Canada to U.S. Over Alleged Terror Plot

Ottawa / New York:Pakistani national Shahzaib Khan, also known as Shahzaib Jadoon, has been extradited from Canada to the United States to face charges related to an alleged terrorist plot. The 20-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in a U.S. court today.
According to U.S. authorities, Khan conspired to carry out a violent attack on a Jewish center in Brooklyn, New York. The Department of Justice revealed that two of the individuals Khan approached for collaboration were actually undercover law enforcement officers.
In one of the alleged conversations, Khan claimed the attack could have been “the largest on U.S. soil since 9/11” if it had succeeded. He was arrested in September 2024 while attempting to cross into the U.S. from Canada.
FBI Director Kash Patel stated that Khan was inspired by ISIS and intended to execute a mass shooting targeting the Jewish community. The attack was reportedly planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the Gaza conflict. Patel praised the efforts of the FBI and its partners in preventing a potential tragedy.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi emphasized that ISIS remains a clear threat to American citizens, particularly to the Jewish community, which has been targeted repeatedly by extremist groups.
The Department of Justice expressed pride in securing Khan’s extradition and reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing justice to the fullest extent. If convicted, Shahzaib Khan faces a potential life sentence.
