Major Anti-Smuggling Operations Across Pakistan: Drugs Worth Millions Seized

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized drugs worth over Rs 40 million in a series of nationwide anti-smuggling operations, arresting four suspects in the process.
According to an ANF spokesperson, a total of 60.229 kilograms of narcotics were recovered during six separate operations conducted in various cities across the country. The crackdown particularly targeted areas near educational institutions and other sensitive locations.
In one operation near a university on Baleli Road in Quetta, ANF officials recovered 2 kilograms of hashish from a suspect. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to selling drugs to students.
In another significant bust near Kala Shah Kaku Toll Plaza in Lahore, 24 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle, and the suspect was arrested on the spot. Similarly, in Hyderabad, 3.6 kilograms of hashish were seized from a passenger on a bus near Giddu Chowk, with an identical amount confiscated in a separate operation in the same city.
Additionally, at a cargo office in Lahore, a parcel destined for Karachi was intercepted, yielding 17 grams of cocaine and 20 ecstasy tablets weighing 12 grams.
In Balochistan’s Sonmiani area, district Hub, ANF uncovered 27 kilograms of heroin hidden among bushes, intended for smuggling.
The ANF confirmed that cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are underway. The force emphasized its commitment to continuing operations without discrimination, especially against elements targeting educational institutions.
