Indian Actress Hina Khan Reveals Color Bias in Bollywood Casting

In a recent podcast appearance, **Indian actress Hina Khan** shared a personal experience, revealing that her **complexion** led to her removal from a Bollywood film. She disclosed that she was initially cast in the film *”Laila Majnu”* but was later replaced due to her **wheatish skin tone**. The makers of the film were reportedly looking for an actress with a lighter complexion, and eventually, **Tripti Dimri** was chosen for the role instead.
Hina Khan’s revelation sheds light on the ongoing color bias in the film industry, where lighter skin is often preferred for leading roles.
The film *”Laila Majnu”*, which was released on **September 7, 2018**, starred **Tripti Dimri** as *Laila* and **Aavish Tiwari** as *Qais Bhatt*. Despite a poor performance at the box office initially, the film was re-released and later gained a better reception.
In addition to her acting career, Hina Khan is currently battling **Stage 3 breast cancer**. She had bravely announced her diagnosis on **June 28**, and she is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
