Heavy storms and rain wreaked havoc across various parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the deaths of at least six people and causing significant damage to infrastructure and property.
In Rawalpindi and Islamabad, strong winds and thunderstorms uprooted trees and knocked down power poles, disrupting electricity in several areas. Peshawar also experienced severe winds and rain, leading to fallen trees and damage to solar panels and vehicles. Attock recorded heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds.
In Muzaffarabad, a cloudburst claimed the lives of three people and damaged several homes and a mosque. Landslides triggered by the rain blocked the Neelum Valley Road at eight different points.
In the northern areas, intermittent snowfall continued at Babusar Top, while in Chilas, landslides and rain led to the closure of the Karakoram Highway at locations in Diamer and Lower Kohistan.
Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hailstorms and rain caused flooding in streams and canals. Various incidents in the province resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to seven others.
Punjab also witnessed dust storms and rainfall in different areas. In Multan, strong winds brought down electric poles, cutting off power to multiple neighborhoods. In another tragic incident, a 10-year-old girl lost her life when a house wall collapsed due to a storm on Old Shujaabad Road.
