President Trump Expresses Desire to Host Pakistani and Indian Leaders for Breakfast Amid Tensions

Jeddah: Amid rising global concern over Pakistan-India tensions, U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed a desire to bring the leadership of both countries together over breakfast in an effort to ease hostilities.
According to media reports, while speaking at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum in Riyadh, President Trump addressed a range of global issues, including U.S.-Saudi relations and regional conflicts. During his speech, Trump casually suggested to his advisor Marco Rubio that it would be a great idea to take both Pakistani and Indian leaders out for a dinner or breakfast meeting.
Trump’s light-hearted remark, “Marco, wouldn’t it be great to take both (Pakistan and India) out to dinner?” drew a smile from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was present at the event.
President Trump emphasized that although the U.S. military is strong, he personally does not favor war. He praised the success of his administration in helping secure a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, urging both nations to set aside their disputes and instead focus on trade.
He went on to describe the leadership in both countries as “strong and intelligent,” expressing hope that the ceasefire agreement would hold. President Trump also commended Pakistan for its contributions in the global fight against terrorism.
