PTI Leader Omar Ayub Alleges Blocked Access to Party Founder, Slams Government Over Security, Economy

Rawalpindi: Opposition Leader and senior PTI figure Omar Ayub has accused the government of deliberately preventing meetings with the party’s founder, expressing serious concerns over political suppression and national security.**
Speaking to media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, Ayub claimed that authorities are actively blocking attempts to meet the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He also noted that the hearing of the *Toshakhana II* case was postponed today, although the required documents for indictment have been submitted.
Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Ayub labeled him a “coward” and criticized his lack of clarity on national defense, stating, “He should boldly declare that if India attacks, Pakistan will respond with both land and air strikes.”
On international affairs, Ayub accused the government of selling ammunition to Ukraine at the behest of the United States, calling the current administration a “puppet government” that is “shaking in fear.”
He also targeted PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, alleging that Zardari had “sold Sindh’s water” and blaming him for contributing to the country’s crisis. Speaking on internal issues, Ayub claimed that Rs 550 billion worth of Iranian petrol is being smuggled into the country, further fueling economic instability.
Touching upon the recent *Jaffer Express* train tragedy, Ayub attributed the incident to a massive intelligence failure, and described the situation in Balochistan as extremely deteriorated.
His remarks reflect growing political tensions in Pakistan amid economic, security, and governance challenges.
