PTI’s Key Leader, Sajid Qureshi, Joins PPP Along with Supporters

Lahore: Sajid Qureshi, Deputy Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced his departure from the party and joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) along with his supporters. He made this announcement during a meeting with Punjab Governor Sardar Sadiq Khan at the Governor House Lahore, where they discussed the current political situation and party matters.
During the meeting, the Governor expressed his views on the political climate, stating that the public had once again overwhelmingly rejected the call for protests on August 5th. He emphasized that both the public and political workers are fed up with the constant protests and sit-ins, stressing that now is the time for development, stability, and the promotion of democracy.
The Governor pointed out that Pakistan cannot afford to engage in protest-based politics, and that the people have rejected those elements who seek to cause unrest and disorder in the country.
He also highlighted that PPP is a party of ideals and values that never abandons its workers. According to him, the workers who are passionate about the party are now returning in large numbers to PPP. He also expressed his belief that soon, PPP’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would be the country’s Prime Minister.
Governor Sadiq Khan further mentioned that PPP is the only political party that appreciates the services of its workers and rewards them with honorable positions.
Sajid Qureshi, in his remarks, shared that he was leaving PTI due to frustration with its protest-driven politics and anti-national rhetoric. He stated that no political party which goes against the country’s interests could earn his support. He expressed his trust in PPP’s leadership, and added that he hopes his political journey would now take a positive direction.
The Governor welcomed Qureshi and his supporters into the PPP fold and assured them that their dedication would not go unnoticed, as PPP always honors its workers.
