Canada’s Liberal Party Elects Mark Carney as New Leader, Set to Replace Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister

Canada’s ruling Liberal Party has elected Mark Carney as its new leader, who will take over the role of Prime Minister from Justin Trudeau in the coming days. According to international media reports, Carney won the leadership election with a resounding 85.9% of the votes.
Carney, in his victory speech, expressed concerns about the United States under President Donald Trump’s leadership, stating that America is attempting to gain control over Canada’s resources, land, water, and the country itself. He emphasized that the Canadian government would not allow Trump’s ambitions to succeed.
This change in leadership comes after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation in January, stating that he would step down once a new leader is chosen by the Liberal Party. Trudeau, 53, took office in 2015 and went on to win two consecutive elections during his tenure.
Carney’s election marks a significant shift in Canada’s political landscape, and many are watching closely to see how he will navigate the country’s relationship with the United States and address domestic challenges.
