Modern Cardiac Healthcare Facilities Being Developed in Balochistan: CM Sarfraz Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said significant progress has been made toward providing modern and quality healthcare facilities for heart patients in the province.

Speaking during a meeting of participants of the Balochistan National Workshop and prominent citizens of the province with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the chief minister said the Balochistan Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (BICVD) was nearing completion, while Sheikh Zayed Hospital Quetta was already serving as an effective and functional cardiac care centre.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif specifically invited Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti to respond to questions concerning Balochistan.

The chief minister said the establishment of a cardiac hospital in Quetta had been announced several years ago, but the project could not make practical progress at the time. Subsequently, the Balochistan government established two important institutions, including Sheikh Zayed Hospital Quetta and the Balochistan Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.

He said Sheikh Zayed Hospital was providing services effectively, while the completion and operationalization of BICVD would enable the people of Balochistan to receive modern and quality cardiac treatment facilities within the province.

Sarfraz Bugti said providing quality healthcare to the people was among the key priorities of the Balochistan government.

The chief minister also described the solarization of the agricultural sector in Balochistan as a major achievement. He said the solarization project had been successfully completed to provide relief to farmers facing the electricity crisis.

He said an important aspect of the project was that its benefits had reached the end users directly, with financial benefits transferred to farmers. He appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, relevant federal and provincial authorities, and the team involved in completing the project.

Chief Minister Bugti said farmers in Balochistan valued the positive results of the solarization initiative, as it had helped reduce difficulties related to electricity supply in the agricultural sector.

He added that the project had also significantly reduced electricity-related expenditures of the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), resulting in savings of national resources.

Sarfraz Bugti said effective cooperation between the federal and provincial governments was enabling major projects for public welfare and economic development in Balochistan to move forward successfully.

He reaffirmed that the government would continue its efforts to provide the people of Balochistan with better facilities in health, agriculture, energy and other essential sectors.
