Four-Member Medical Board Recommends More Family Meetings, Walking and Reading Material for Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: A four-member medical board that examined former Prime Minister Imran Khan has recommended increased family meetings, daily walking and greater access to reading material to help manage his health, blood pressure and anxiety while he remains in Adiala Jail.
According to a report submitted to the Supreme Court, the medical board has forwarded a set of recommendations to the jail administration after assessing Imran Khan’s medical condition.
The board said that, in view of his current health situation, some relaxation in the prison environment and routine was necessary. It recommended allowing Imran Khan to walk for at least one hour every day to help control his anxiety and blood pressure.

The doctors also recommended that he be provided with magazines, newspapers, books and access to television on a regular basis to keep him mentally and intellectually engaged.
The medical board also made recommendations regarding Imran Khan’s meetings with his family members and wife. It suggested that such meetings should be arranged regularly and allowed for longer periods than the currently prescribed duration.
According to the report, these measures could help reduce Imran Khan’s anxiety and contribute to keeping his blood pressure within normal limits.
The recommendations have been submitted as part of the report placed before the Supreme Court.
