Trump’s Timely Actions Saved South Asia from Catastrophe, Says PM Shehbaz
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has warmly welcomed US President Donald Trump’s supportive statement regarding the historic Mecca Joint Defense Agreement and thanked him for his backing.
In a statement, the prime minister said Pakistan would continue playing a constructive and positive role alongside its brotherly Islamic countries, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, to help ensure the defense of their countries as well as the security and stability of the wider region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised President Trump’s international and regional strategy, describing his leadership as courageous and decisive.

He said Trump’s timely and bold leadership and actions had played a key role in saving South Asia from a devastating nuclear catastrophe, thereby protecting the precious lives of millions of people in the region.
The prime minister reiterated that sustainable peace is the fundamental prerequisite for the prosperity, development and brighter future of all nations and peoples.
He said Pakistan would continue working closely with all its allies and partners to promote lasting peace and regional stability.
