US-Pakistan Bilateral Trade Surpassed $8 Billion in 2025, Says Natalie Baker

ISLAMABAD:U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan Natalie Baker has said that bilateral trade between the United States and Pakistan surpassed **$8 billion in 2025**, highlighting opportunities to further strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
Baker visited Lahore on **August 11 and 12**, where she held meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Adviser Ali Dar, business leaders and technology experts.
According to the U.S. Embassy, discussions during the meetings focused on **artificial intelligence (AI), higher education, innovation, trade and investment**.
Baker said the United States was committed to working with Pakistan’s private sector, universities, innovators and government institutions.
She noted that Pakistan’s technology sector was expanding rapidly and said the two countries could increase cooperation in trade, investment, AI and emerging technologies.
She highlighted opportunities for collaboration in **software, digital services and artificial intelligence**, saying greater cooperation in these areas could create new economic opportunities for both countries.
Emphasizing the importance of expanding bilateral commercial relations, Baker said trade between the United States and Pakistan had exceeded **$8 billion in 2025**.
She also said American expertise in education could create new opportunities for Pakistani students while helping strengthen economic and educational ties between the two countries.
