Punjab Government Announces Distribution of Electric Bikes to All Female Students Who Applied
Lahore: The Punjab government has announced that all female students who applied for electric bikes will receive them. The Bank of Punjab has approved loans for 20,000 students to purchase bikes. According to a spokesperson from the Transport Department, under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, free electric bikes are being distributed to orphaned students.
The total number of bikes allocated to students has been increased from 20,000 to 27,200. As of now, 7,500 bikes have been distributed, and deliveries are being made on a daily basis. Over 5,000 petrol bikes have already been delivered, while the distribution of 2,000 electric bikes has also been completed.
Additionally, the delivery of another 6,500 electric bikes is currently in progress. All bikes come with two years of insurance and free servicing. There are over 15,000 students on the waiting list who will also be given the opportunity to receive bikes in due course.
