Goods Transporters Announce Nationwide Strike from August 8, Demand Monthly Fuel Price Revision

Islamabad: The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a nationwide strike starting on August 8 in protest against government policies affecting the transport sector.

Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan demanded that petroleum product prices be revised on a monthly basis instead of daily, arguing that frequent price changes create uncertainty and financial difficulties for transport operators.

He also called for the resignation of Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and urged the government to reduce the withholding tax from 7% to 2% to ease the financial burden on transport businesses.

The alliance warned that transporters across the country would observe the strike from August 8 if their demands are not addressed.
