Summer Vacations End: Schools and Colleges Reopen Across Sindh

Karachi: Government and private schools and colleges across Sindh, including Karachi, have reopened after the end of the two-month summer vacation, with regular academic activities resuming on Friday.

According to the Sindh Education Department, the weekly Saturday holiday has also been abolished from August 1. Under the revised schedule, all educational institutions will now remain open six days a week, and the new working hours have also come into effect.

On the first day of reopening, student attendance remained lower than usual in many government and private schools. Meanwhile, some private institutions have decided to resume regular classes from August 3.

Schools welcomed students back with engaging educational and science-based activities to create an enthusiastic learning environment. Children arrived at schools accompanied by their parents or through school transport services, while teachers greeted them warmly.

Teachers also shared the updated timetable and other important information with parents via WhatsApp and email. With schools reopening, morning traffic on Karachi’s roads also returned to normal levels.

It is worth mentioning that the Sindh Education Department had announced summer vacations from June 1 to July 31.
