Pakistan Offers to Mediate US-Iran Talks as PM Shehbaz, Saudi Crown Prince Discuss Regional Security

Islamabad: Pakistan has stepped up diplomatic efforts for regional peace, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif holding a key telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to discuss regional and global security challenges.
According to media reports, both leaders expressed deep concern over the serious threats facing regional stability and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation. Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that Islamabad stands shoulder to shoulder with the Kingdom in all circumstances.
In a significant policy statement, Shehbaz Sharif offered Pakistan’s role in facilitating “meaningful dialogue” to help de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. He stated that Pakistan is ready to host negotiations aimed at resolving ongoing conflicts and promoting peace in the region.
The Prime Minister also welcomed all efforts toward a ceasefire and made a notable offer to mediate between United States and Iran. He said Pakistan would be willing to facilitate and host comprehensive talks between the two countries if both sides agree, stressing that dialogue is essential to prevent further escalation.
Meanwhile, another major diplomatic development emerged as Field Marshal Asim Munir held a telephonic conversation with former US President Donald Trump. The interaction was confirmed by White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, who described the discussion as highly sensitive and diplomatically significant.
She noted that due to the sensitive nature of the matter, details of the conversation would not be disclosed publicly.
These high-level engagements have reinforced the perception that Pakistan is emerging as a key player in efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region.
