Eid-ul-Adha Holidays to Be Finalized After PM’s Return; Federal Budget to Be Presented on June 10

Islamabad: The decision regarding Eid-ul-Adha holidays will be made after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returns from his foreign visit, while the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year will be presented on June 10 as scheduled.
According to Federal Secretary of Finance Imdadullah Bosal, the date of the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting is still undecided and may be subject to change. During an informal conversation with the media, he said the date for the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) meeting has also not yet been finalized.
Bosal further stated that virtual talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are set to resume today, with discussions expected to focus on providing relief to the salaried class and the industrial sector.
The budgetary targets and possible fiscal measures for the new financial year will be discussed in coordination with the IMF to finalize the upcoming budget framework.
Sources have indicated that the National Executive Council meeting is scheduled for June 5, and despite pending decisions on the Eid holidays, the budget will be tabled in the National Assembly on June 10.
