PkMAP Condemns Killings of Seven Workers in Turbat, Demands Action Over Highway Violence and Abductions

Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the killing of seven laborers in Turbat, the fatal shooting of a civilian in Manguchar, and the abduction of four people from the Quetta–Karachi National Highway, describing the incidents as clear evidence of worsening terrorism, lawlessness, and the deteriorating security situation in Balochistan.

In a press release issued from the party’s provincial secretariat, PkMAP termed the killing of innocent workers, the targeting of civilians, and the abduction of passengers from highways as inhumane and unacceptable acts that pose a serious threat to public safety, social harmony, and peace in the province.

The party said the murder of civilian Salman Khan Norzai in Manguchar was a tragic incident and demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible, calling for them to be brought to justice under the law.

PkMAP also urged the authorities to ensure the safe recovery of the four individuals from Qila Abdullah and Chaman who were reportedly abducted from the Quetta–Karachi Highway four days ago. It further called for the immediate arrest of those involved in the killing of the seven workers in Turbat, as well as their facilitators and supporters.

The party stated that the Quetta–Karachi National Highway has become increasingly unsafe due to recurring incidents of terrorism, kidnappings, armed robberies, and attacks on travelers. It said passengers, transporters, laborers, traders, and ordinary citizens are living in fear, raising serious questions about the performance of the provincial government and law enforcement agencies.

According to the statement, protecting the lives and property of citizens is a fundamental constitutional and legal responsibility of the government, but the current security situation suggests that this responsibility is not being fulfilled effectively.

PkMAP called on the government to strengthen permanent security arrangements on the Quetta–Karachi Highway and other major roads across the province, launch indiscriminate action against terrorist groups and criminal elements, and ensure a safe environment for travelers and businesses.

The party warned that unless timely and effective measures are taken to restore law and order, public confidence in state institutions could continue to decline.

Separately, PkMAP leaders and workers, including Samungli Regional Secretary Haji Abdullah Jan Achakzai, attended the funeral prayers and burial of Salman Khan Norzai. The party expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased’s forgiveness, elevated status, and patience for his relatives.
