PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Calls for Free Elections, Says Meeting with Party Founder Is Key to Progress

Rawalpindi:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman **Barrister Gohar Ali Khan** said that Kashmir is Pakistan’s “jugular vein” and stressed that the region must not be allowed to descend into instability.

Speaking to the media near Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar said PTI had boycotted the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections because the party believed a conducive environment for **free and fair elections** was lacking. He maintained that only transparent elections could move the country forward.

He said the country’s two major political parties had contributed to the current political situation and emphasized that this was not the time for political point-scoring but for efforts aimed at improving national conditions.

Commenting on the case registered against **Noreen Bibi**, Barrister Gohar said filing such cases would not help improve the situation. He added that the remarks made by **Noreen Niazi** reflected her personal opinion and that she had already issued a clarification.

The PTI chairman also said that a meeting with the party’s founder remains the key to resolving the current political impasse.
