Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Donald Trump on his historic victory in the U.S. presidential elections, marking his re-election for a second term. In a tweet, Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged that Trump’s success in the election was a significant achievement. He further expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to collaborate with the new U.S. administration and strengthen bilateral relations moving forward.
Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the incoming American leadership to build stronger ties between the two nations.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also congratulated Trump on his electoral win, calling it a victory over “war and conflict.” Bhutto hoped that the new U.S. administration would prioritize peace and play a constructive role in resolving global disputes.
Donald Trump, who surpassed the required 270 electoral votes in the election, is set to become the 47th President of the United States. Kamala Harris secured 226 electoral votes, and Trump is scheduled to take the oath of office on January 20, 2025.
