Ali Amin Gandapur Criticizes Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Urges Him Not to Target Martyrs Over Political Differences

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has strongly criticized Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, accusing him of making controversial remarks against the country’s martyrs and state institutions.

Speaking to media representatives in Dera Ismail Khan, Gandapur alleged that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had used political pressure to secure the transfer of 1,200 kanals of land originally designated for martyrs. He claimed that such an incident was unprecedented in Pakistan’s political history and urged the JUI-F chief to refrain from invoking the sacrifices of martyrs for political purposes. He also called on Maulana Fazlur Rehman to withdraw his recent controversial statement regarding the armed forces.

Gandapur said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has remained on the frontline of the war against terrorism for many years, during which both security personnel and civilians have made immense sacrifices. He stressed that martyrs belong to the entire nation and deserve the highest respect, adding that political grievances should not be directed at the country’s martyrs or its security institutions.

Referring to the general elections, the PTI leader claimed that the people of Pakistan, particularly those in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had rejected Maulana Fazlur Rehman and his party. He alleged that the JUI-F chief entered parliament through electoral manipulation reflected in “Form-47” results from his constituency. Gandapur further claimed that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was frustrated because he did not receive his desired share in the government following the elections.

Commenting on the imprisonment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Gandapur said that denying him his constitutional and legal rights and restricting meetings with him in jail amounted to political victimization. He expressed confidence that the judiciary would ultimately provide justice and that Imran Khan would be acquitted of what he described as false cases and return to public life with his legal and constitutional rights restored.

Speaking on the country’s broader political situation, Gandapur alleged that the apparent differences between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were merely political theatrics intended to divert public attention from pressing economic and political issues. He claimed that both parties remain aligned when it comes to sharing power and resources, arguing that their actions demonstrate that political interests take precedence over public welfare.
