QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 14 suspected agents during a major crackdown in Quetta over allegations of fraud and illegal facilitation carried out in the names of several federal institutions.
According to FIA Balochistan Director Bahram Mandokhail, the operation targeted individuals allegedly posing as agents for the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), the Passport Office, and the Metropolitan Corporation.
He said the suspects were allegedly providing illegal facilitation services to citizens in exchange for money, including the processing of birth certificates, computerized national identity cards (CNICs), and passports.
Mandokhail said the arrested suspects are currently being interrogated, adding that investigators expect to identify and apprehend other members of the alleged network in the coming days.
