Public Safety Is Police’s Top Priority, Officers Must Remain Vigilant: Balochistan IGP

QUETTA: Inspector General (IG) of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, has said that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the police’s highest priority and urged officers to remain physically and mentally alert while performing their duties.

According to a statement, the IGP visited Airport Police Station, Shalkot Police Station, Kachi Baig Police Station, and Sariab Police Station to review security arrangements. He was accompanied by DIG Quetta Imran Shaukat, SSP Operations Quetta Zia Mandokhail, and other senior police officials.

During the visit, the DIG Quetta briefed the IGP on security measures, personnel strength, and operational arrangements at the police stations. The IGP also met with officers and personnel deployed at the stations and appreciated their professional performance.

Addressing the officers, Muhammad Tahir said that the police uniform and duty are a source of pride and that the current security situation has made the professional responsibilities of police personnel even more important.

He said Balochistan Police continues to serve on the front line in the fight against terrorism, fulfilling its responsibility to protect citizens and uphold the rule of law.

The IGP stressed that public safety is the police’s foremost priority and said no sacrifice would be spared in achieving that objective. He urged officers to face challenges with determination, courage, and resilience while remaining physically fit, mentally prepared, and constantly vigilant during duty.

He also instructed police personnel to respect the rights and dignity of citizens while performing their responsibilities, noting that professionalism, good conduct, and a positive attitude contribute to the reputation of the police force.

Concluding his remarks, the IGP said that Balochistan Police has consistently forced anti-social and criminal elements to surrender through its commitment and professionalism, adding that police weapons are a symbol of responsibility and are meant to be used only to combat crime and maintain law and order.
