PkMAP Criticizes Balochistan Government Over Water Shortages, Public Services, and Security

Quetta: Leaders of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) have strongly criticized the Balochistan government, accusing it of failing to address public issues and leaving residents of Quetta without access to basic services, including clean drinking water.

Speaking at party events in Quetta, PkMAP provincial leaders, including Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan and Syed Sharaf Agha, alleged that the government’s “criminal silence” over public problems reflected administrative failure. They claimed that declining groundwater levels and the shortage of safe drinking water have become serious concerns, while the relevant departments have failed to respond effectively.

The party leaders also expressed concern over the law and order situation in the province, saying that recurring incidents of violence have created insecurity among the public and threatened the safety of lives and property.

According to the speakers, Quetta’s growing population continues to face shortages of electricity, natural gas, clean drinking water, education, and healthcare facilities. They further alleged that the city’s sanitation system has failed to improve despite the implementation of the Safa Project, blaming corruption, favoritism, and poor governance for the deterioration of public institutions.

The remarks were made during ceremonies welcoming new members into the party, where several individuals announced their decision to join PkMAP from other political groups. Party leaders said the increasing number of new members reflected public confidence in the party’s policies.

The speakers urged party workers to remain actively engaged with local communities, identify public issues at the grassroots level, and work through the party’s organizational structure to address them. They also called on the public to support PkMAP’s political movement under the leadership of Mahmood Khan Achakzai, saying the party would continue its struggle for what it described as the rights and aspirations of the people.
