Pakistan Urges Restraint Amid Escalating Regional Tensions Following US-Iran Conflict

Islamabad:Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the region and urged all parties to exercise restraint and take immediate steps toward de-escalation.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country’s strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all brotherly states in the region.
The Foreign Office called on all sides to avoid further escalation and to honor their commitments under the **Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding**, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and confidence-building measures.
The statement added that Pakistan remains committed to supporting lasting peace and stability in the region through diplomacy, dialogue, and constructive engagement.
The remarks come amid renewed military tensions after the **U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)** announced a new round of strikes against Iran. According to CENTCOM, the operations are aimed at reducing Iran’s capability to threaten civilian and commercial shipping transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Pakistan reiterated that diplomacy remains the only viable path to resolving regional disputes and ensuring long-term peace and security.
