Historic Flooding Devastates Missouri After Century’s Heaviest Rainfall

MISSOURI:** Catastrophic flooding has swept across the US state of Missouri following what officials describe as the heaviest rainfall of the century, triggering widespread devastation and emergency rescue operations.
According to US media reports, between 6 and 12 inches of rain inundated affected areas, submerging roads, campgrounds, and entire communities.
Residential neighborhoods were flooded by several feet of water, leaving more than 90,000 people stranded. Many residents climbed onto rooftops, trees, and other elevated areas to escape the rising floodwaters.
Water levels in local rivers surged to a record 29 feet, sweeping away several homes. Authorities have declared a state of emergency across the affected regions.
Emergency crews are using helicopters and boats to rescue stranded residents, while the National Weather Service has warned that continued rainfall could lead to further flooding in the coming days.
