Bodies of 21 Police Personnel Killed in Ziarat Attack Handed Over to Families After Identification
Quetta: The identification process of the 21 Balochistan Police personnel killed in the recent militant attack in Ziarat has been completed, and their bodies have been handed over to their families following legal formalities and medical examinations.
According to officials at Civil Hospital Quetta, all required procedures, including identification and post-mortem formalities, have been completed. The bodies are being transported to the victims’ hometowns, where they will be laid to rest with full official honors.
Police authorities said the fallen personnel displayed exceptional courage and professionalism while carrying out their duties, sacrificing their lives in the defense of public safety, state authority, and national security. Officials described their sacrifices as a lasting chapter in the history of the Balochistan Police.
The injured personnel were also shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta, where they are receiving medical treatment under the supervision of specialist doctors. Hospital officials said every effort is being made to ensure the best possible care for the wounded.
The Balochistan Police, district administration, and other authorities paid tribute to the slain officers, reaffirming their commitment to continue operations against militant groups and their facilitators. Officials pledged that those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice.
The attack has triggered widespread mourning across Balochistan, with government officials, political leaders, civil society organizations, business groups, lawyers, students, and members of the public expressing condolences to the bereaved families and honoring the sacrifices of the police personnel.
Authorities said funeral prayers and burial ceremonies will be held with full state honors, including a ceremonial guard of honor, and are expected to be attended by senior officials, elected representatives, police officers, and members of the public.
