PPP Lawyers in Balochistan Allege Irregularities in Recruitment at Prosecutor General’s Office

Quetta:** Several senior lawyers affiliated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Balochistan have alleged irregularities and favoritism in the recruitment process for recently announced vacancies in the Prosecutor General Balochistan’s office.
In a joint statement, senior advocates including Syed Agha Zahoor Shah, Supreme Court Senior Advocate Arbab Fayyaz, former President of the Peoples Lawyers Forum Balochistan Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar Allahwala, Zafran Ali Khan Luni, Gul Jatoi, and others accused the current provincial cabinet of the Peoples Lawyers Forum (PLF) of allegedly manipulating the recruitment process.
The lawyers claimed that the existing PLF provincial cabinet, which they described as “imposed,” has already begun distributing positions and allegedly engaging in financial dealings regarding the vacancies. According to them, influential figures are being asked to submit names of their preferred candidates, bypassing merit and ignoring dedicated party lawyers.
They further alleged that reliable sources indicate that informal bidding for various posts has already started, with demands for large sums of money. The lawyers termed the alleged practice shameful and unjust, particularly for young lawyers who have been actively working and making sacrifices for the party over the past years.
The statement also criticized the PLF leadership for allegedly making decisions against merit since the beginning of its tenure and attempting to favor selected individuals in the recruitment process at the Prosecutor General’s office.
The lawyers called on the party’s central leadership, the provincial cabinet, and the Chief Minister of Balochistan to ensure that the entire recruitment process is conducted transparently and fairly. They also demanded an investigation into alleged financial transactions, distribution of laptops, gifts, and favoritism toward non-party lawyers while ignoring loyal party workers.
They warned that if the concerns of young lawyers continue to be ignored and the current PLF provincial setup is not reorganized, they will launch a strong legal, democratic, and organizational protest after **Eid-ul-Fitr**. They added that the issue will be raised on every available forum if the alleged injustices are not addressed.
