Four Killed, Seven Injured in Hanna Urak Clash; Protesters Block Airport Road in Quetta

QUETTA: Four local residents were killed and seven others injured in a clash between armed men and local tribespeople in the Hanna Urak area on the outskirts of Quetta, while protesters later blocked Airport Road in the Shara-e-Band area of the city.
According to Bakht Muhammad Kakar, the confrontation resulted in the deaths of four local residents, while seven others sustained injuries. He said one of the injured is in critical condition.
The health minister stated that all injured victims were shifted to the Trauma Center for immediate medical treatment.
Kakar added that personnel from the Frontier Corps Balochistan, police, and other security agencies have been deployed to the area, where an operation against the armed attackers is currently underway.
He said local residents are cooperating with security forces and standing alongside them in efforts to counter the armed groups and restore peace in the area.
The provincial minister further said the government is closely monitoring the situation and has declared an emergency at all government hospitals to ensure timely medical treatment for the injured.
Meanwhile, residents staged a protest in the Shara-e-Band area of Quetta, blocking Airport Road to demand stronger security measures and immediate action against those responsible for the violence. Traffic remained disrupted as authorities continued efforts to manage the situation.
