HDP Criticizes Government Over Broken Roads and Water Crisis Risk in Quetta

Quetta: The Hazara Democratic Party has strongly criticized the government over deteriorating infrastructure and an emerging water crisis in Quetta, warning of public protests if conditions do not improve.
In a statement, the party condemned what it called the “Form-47 imposed government” and alleged that “fake assembly members” have failed to address public issues during the past two and a half years. It said the condition of roads in the city and across the province has worsened significantly, while national highways have turned into “a symbol of destruction.”
The HDP further claimed that essential utilities such as gas and electricity are already unavailable, and now the water supply system is also being severely damaged, raising fears of a major water shortage during the upcoming summer season.
The party alleged that development funds and PSDP allocations meant for Quetta are being diverted to lawmakers’ native districts, leaving the provincial capital neglected.
It said that despite widespread road destruction, no significant development scheme has been initiated in the city over the past two and a half years. The statement accused the authorities of misleading the public while failing to deliver basic services.
The HDP highlighted that the water supply system in areas including Alamdar Road had previously been restored with great effort, but is now once again showing signs of deterioration.
The party urged the government to correct its policies and focus on improving systems instead of creating new problems. It warned that if corrective measures are not taken, citizens may be forced to exercise their constitutional and democratic right to peaceful protest and demonstrations.
