Quetta to Launch Strict Crackdown on Unregistered Vehicles, Joint Strategy Finalized

Quetta: Authorities in Quetta have decided to take strict action against unregistered vehicles as the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Traffic Police, and Excise Department have jointly prepared a coordinated enforcement strategy.
An important meeting was held between RTA Secretary Muhammad Ali, DSP Headquarters Traffic Salman Tareen, and Excise Inspector Asif Jan Tareen to address the rising number of unregistered vehicles operating in the provincial capital.
Officials expressed concern that such vehicles not only disrupt traffic discipline but also pose serious security risks. They agreed on a comprehensive plan under which all three departments will conduct joint operations across the city.
According to the decision, strict checking at various checkpoints will be further intensified, and legal action will be taken against violators without any discrimination. Authorities also confirmed that no vehicle will be allowed on the roads without proper registration.
Special teams will be formed, and daily monitoring will be increased to ensure effective enforcement of the rules.
At the same time, the meeting also discussed simplifying the vehicle registration process to facilitate citizens and reduce delays. Officials said the aim is to provide the public with easier and quicker registration services.
The departments have urged citizens to register their vehicles on time to avoid legal action and contribute to improving the city’s traffic system.
Journalists and media representatives welcomed the decision, terming it a positive step toward improving traffic management and strengthening the rule of law in Quetta, adding that its benefits are expected to become visible soon.
