Iran’s Parliament Speaker Says U.S. Must Accept New Trade Realities After Conflict

TEHRAN:Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said the United States must recognize what he described as new geopolitical and trade realities following the recent conflict involving Iran.

According to Iranian media, Ghalibaf made the remarks during a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Uzbekistan.

He said that developments following the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States had changed the regional landscape, arguing that Washington would now have to acknowledge the new realities.

“The situation has improved compared to the past, and post-war developments have compelled the United States to accept the current realities,” Ghalibaf was quoted as saying.

The Iranian parliament speaker added that the evolving environment could create opportunities to expand trade relations and expressed hope that it would also pave the way for the lifting of international sanctions.

Ghalibaf further said that joint management by Iran and Oman in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, together with what he described as a reduction in U.S. activities in the region, could improve prospects for regional transit and trade cooperation.

The comments reflect the Iranian parliament speaker’s position and do not indicate any official change in U.S. policy or international sanctions.
