Gwadar: A surprise inspection by Deputy Commissioner Gwadar, Naqeebullah Kakar, has uncovered widespread irregularities in the district’s Social Welfare Department, exposing serious administrative lapses and alleged misconduct.

During the unannounced visit on June 3, 2026, officials found that 26 out of the department’s 107 employees were absent without prior notice, while the office was reportedly operating in a state of severe mismanagement.

According to the inspection report, the district head was simultaneously handling six additional assignments, the office building was in poor condition, and basic facilities were found to be inadequate.

The report also revealed inaccuracies in records relating to persons with disabilities and alleged that multiple fake disability certificates had been issued. In addition, the literacy and non-formal education section was found to be completely non-functional.

Describing the situation as serious, Deputy Commissioner Naqeebullah Kakar ordered immediate departmental action under the Balochistan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Act (BEEDA) 2011. Authorities have also initiated disciplinary proceedings against the absent employees.

According to sources, a video recorded during the inspection is available and is expected to serve as key evidence in the ongoing inquiry. The findings have highlighted significant governance issues within the department and underscored the need for urgent administrative reforms.
