BAP Leaders Call for Border Trade Restoration, Vow to Serve Balochistan’s People

Quetta:Leaders of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) have stressed that for lasting peace and prosperity in Balochistan, the federal government must treat the province as an equal unit of the federation. They urged the immediate **restoration of cross-border trade**, warning that its suspension has caused widespread unemployment in border regions.

Speaking at BAP’s **central council session** held at Boys Scouts Quetta on Saturday, newly elected party president and MNA **Nawabzada Khalid Magsi**, Secretary General **Senator Manzoor Khan Kakar**, MPA **Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani**, Chief Organizer **Mir Jan Mohammad Jamali**, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter president **Fida Muhammad Hussain Shah** expressed unity and resolve to strengthen the party.

Nawabzada Khalid Magsi likened BAP to a garden that blossoms again after autumn, declaring that a “new spring” had come to the party. He emphasized that **service to the people and problem-solving** remain the cornerstone of BAP’s manifesto, noting that record development projects were completed during the party’s previous tenure in government.

Senator Manzoor Kakar said BAP has always worked for the betterment of the province, crediting dedicated workers for keeping the party alive through challenges. Chief Organizer Jamali added that the new leadership carries greater responsibility and must now **deliver on performance**.

He also highlighted calls from national leaders, including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N’s Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, for a **political solution to Balochistan’s issues**. Jamali urged the government to resolve the province’s problems—particularly by supporting border trade—and treat Balochistan on par with other provinces to end growing discontent.

MPA Sadiq Sanjrani recalled that BAP was formed in 2018 to be the **voice of Balochistan in the federation**, pledging that the party would never compromise on the rights of the province’s people, especially its youth.

BAP KP president Fida Hussain Shah announced that the party is preparing to contest the upcoming elections nationwide, stating that BAP will field candidates in constituencies across Pakistan.

The leaders unanimously pledged that BAP’s renewed strength will be dedicated to **economic revival, equal treatment for Balochistan, and the restoration of peace through development and opportunity**.
